UNTILL SHE BECOME UNWELL MY NAN WAS NEVER ONE TO COMPLAIN ALWAYS GOT ON WITH IT I LIVED WITH HER AND
MY GRANDAD AS I WORKED JUST DOWN THE ROAD SHE ALWAYS MADED SURE I HAD A HOME COOKED MEAL WHEN I GOT
IN FROM WORK
SHE LOVED HAVING HER GRANCHILDERN AROUND SHE WAS ONE IN A MILLION
I MISS HER TO THIS DAY AND I THINK I ALWAYS WILL
NAN I CAN REMBER THE DAY YOU BECOME UNWELL YOU AND GRANDAD COME OVER TO MUM AND DADS LIKE YOU
ALWAYS DID AND YOU SAID TOO MUMYOU DIDNT FEEL WELL AND YOU WANTED ME TO GO HOME WITH HER AND
GRANDAD FOR THE NIGHT MUM AND YOU ASKED ME AS I DIDNT HAVE WORK THE NEXT DAY AND I SAID NAN OFCOUSE
I WILL WE GOT IN AND I MADE YOU A CUP OF TEA AND WE SAT TALKING THEN WE WENT TO BED I WILL NEVER
FORGET THE TIME IT WILL ALWAYS PLAY BACK IN MY HEAD I WAKE UP TO YOU CALLING ME IT WAS 3AM YOU WAS
IN THE BATHROOM AND YOU COULDNT GET UP I DIDNT NO WHAT WAS GOING ON UNTILL I COME INTO YOU YOU HAD
HAD A STROKE NOT A BAD ONE BUT IT HAD HAPPEND I CALLED GRANDAD AND HE PHONED MUM AND THE DOCTOR YOU
KEPT SAYING IM NOT GOING IN HOSPITAL BUT NAN YOU HAD TO AND THATS WHEN WE ALL NEW THAT IT WAS BAD
THEY RUN LOTS OF TESTS ON YOU AND THEN GRANDAD HAD TO SEE THE DOCTOR AND THATS WHEN OUR WORLD COME
CRUSHING DOWN ALL AROUND US HE SAID THAT YOU HAD A BRAIN TUMOR AND THERE WAS NOTHING ANYONE COULD DO
YOU WASNT GOING TO GET BETTER GRANDAD DIDNT WANT YOU TO NO AS HE THOUGHT YOU WOULD HAVE GIVEN UP IN
ALL NAN YOU HAD ABOUT 6 STROKES AND FOR A TIME YOU COULDNT TALK VERY WELL AND YOU COULDNT WALK BUT
NAN IT ALL COME BACK AND YOU WANTED TO COME HOME MUM ASKED AND THEY SAID YOU WILL BE TAKEING YOUR
MUM HOME TO DIE AND MUM SAID WELL IM TAKEING HER HOME NAN THAT WAS IN THE NOV AND I CAN ALWAYS
REMBER THAT XMAS WE ALL HAD TOGETHER WE ALL NOW THAT IT WAS GOING TO BE YOUR LAST BUT WE MADE IT SO
SPECIAL I THINK YOU DID NO NAN BUT NEVER SAID YOU WAS DIEING AND ALL THE TIME WE HAD LEFT WAS NO

I'll never see a rainbow

With Heaven its domain;

• The only way we can be protected from the pain of loss and the grief we feel, is by having never loved.
• How empty our lives would be, and what a lot of wonderful shared moments we would have missed, if we had not known.
• So, although what we feel at the moment is terrible, we must try to remember that it is because we have all been privileged to have known and loved, that we now feel the pain and sadness.

Poem: SMILING ON THE HORIZON
We can't see you anymore
Can't be with you anymore,
Since we lost you on that day
the pain still won't go away.
Tears, they wont bring you back,
Memories are not something that we lack
But how do these compensate
For having you taken away?
Tears may fall and turn to dust
Pain may last from dawn to dusk,
But we all know that since you've gone
You've been smiling on the horizon.
Yes, we've all been missing you,
Your family, they miss kissing you
Your soul and spirit still live on
Cannot believe that you've really gone.
Your precious life may have slipped away,
We’ll never forget you, miss you each day.
Grieve our loss, mourn a child,
Remember you so meek and mild.
Tears may fall and turn to dust

But we all know that since you've gone

We all know you're in a better place
and you've left the door ajar.
